Cactus in love
So with Valentine’s Day just around the corner the shops seem to be full of everything red and adorned with hearts. That got me thinking about my little cacti that I make. How would they look with heart embellishments?
Now those that know me well know that I love my craft supplies. I often find myself walking into shops and coming out with a variety of different things that I just had to have but have no real plan for what I am going to use them for. I am just safe in the knowledge that one day they will come in handy and I will be glad for that one day in the past I decided that they were that days must have purchase.
With this new idea for a cactus in my head I set about rummaging in how I could embellish it and from there it would lead me to what colour yarn and pot it would have. I found my little red heart buttons. I thought these would be cute to stitch on the front of the cacti where a heart might be. I also found some ribbon bows that had hearts printed on them. Now the colour of the bow was cream and the hearts were black so I thought it needed a splash of colour and to tie it into the red heart button. I set about looking for my mini heart gems as I could put one in the middle of the bow. Last colour choices were the pot which I decided to do black to pick out the hearts on the bow and the base colour of the cactus had to be a vibrant green as green and red go so well together.
I really adore my cactus in love and will need to now make some more as I have lots of ideas for different colours for the cactus as I have found lots more little heart buttons in a range of colours. The possibilities are endless as they say.
